(He was born in Mendham, NJ in 1773; graduated from Princeton in 1796; settled in Geneva, NY by 1804. Co-pastor of Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jedediah Chapman in 1812. On death of Jedediah, in 1813, Dr. Axtell became sole pastor. Geneva Gazette 2/18/1829 Western
