"I, Julia E. Schumann, of the Village of Seneca Falls, in the County of Seneca and State of New York, aged sixty-five years and upwards and being of sound disposition and memory do hereby make, ordain, publish and declare this my Last Will and Testament in this manner and form following that is to say:

First, I direct my executor hereinafter appointed to pay from my estate all just debts by me together with my funeral expenses and the expenses of administration upon my estate. Second, I give and bequeath unto my son Adelbert L. Schuman my Gold Bowed spectacles. Third, I devise and bequeath all of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, unto my son Charles H. In witness whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and seal at the Village of Seneca Falls, N.Y. this 31st day of January, in the year of our Lord One thousand nine hundred and fourteen. Mrs. Julia E. Schumann (LS)"

This is followed by a statement by the witnesses that it was witnessed by them, and they are: George W. Pontius and Lizzie A. Young, both residents of Seneca Falls. George was a lawyer and also the husband of Lillias J. Schermerhorn, Julia Schuman's step-niece by her brother-in-law, John D. Schuman. After that is a statement by the Surrogate's Court Clerk, Mabel A. Fox, that Julia died July 6, 1923, and that the will was submitted for probate on July 10th, 1923. It is signed and sealed July 12th, 1923.
